I cannot express how much I appreciate those who have been coming to read the stories I have been writing for the November challenge. The encouragement and comments have been lovely. I just want you all to know that I welcome any criticism you might have of my works. Getting input from my readers on any aspect of the stories will help my writing improve. Again, thank you so much for reading!
Well, the Xmas storm is over. I hope that everyone liked the presents that we got for them and the ones that I made. I hope Dad’s socks and Toadie’s sweater fit! Today, I am making pea soup, which is almost done. Working on figuring out the formatting for posting recipes here on WP so that when I post recipes they will look nicer and be more user friendly. I’ll be posting my pea soup recipe soon. I am listening to chanted Hindu mantras set to music over on Read the rest of this entry
Well, looks like most of the people visiting this site are readers. Which is good since I’m writing so much! I love books and normally read quite alot. As of late I have been rather busy and haven’t been reading much of anything. I’m way behind on my reading goal for the year. Going to have to find a day to myself that I can get my nose into a book for a few hours (or more).
What have you guys been reading as of late? I’m currently still working on Slaughter House Five. It’s a weird book… I’ll review it once I get all the way through.
Things have been BUSY!
Starting things out: how’d the first week of the plan for the blog go. Answer? Not so great. I think I missed the medical post, but I got all the others in. But not on the right days… >.< Seemed like being more structured would be helpful, but it’s not seeming to be so far. 😛 Read the rest of this entry
Not sure when I wrote my last update, but it seems that it has been a while…
So, my kid has turned 15. How the fuck does that happen? I’m sure I’m not old enough for her to be 15 already. Sigh. Where does time go? Despite time being a bandit, I am blessed. We have a beautiful daughter that is smart, funny and has a good heart. There really isn’t much more a parent could want from a kid. Read the rest of this entry

Here’s a prompt. Just cut and paste the list below into your blog. Then answer each item on the list with yes or no. If it’s a yes, give a sentence or two about it! Then add one or two items onto the list that are yours. Read the rest of this entry
lol this prompt amuses me. I have decided that I have let my reading go by the way side for no particular reason over the last few years. I have made a goal this year to read at least one book a month. So far, I’m right on track 🙂
When I was in college I read constantly just to keep up with my course work. Honestly, I loved it. The things I read for English were the best. There was such variety. I found that there were many authors and books that I would have never picked up, but that were assigned to read and I became very found of. The first of these was “Master and Margarita”. I loved the book, but I remember reading the back of it and groaning. There are times that I wish I still had people telling me what to read and when to have it read by.
I’m not sure why, but over the past 2-3 years I have almost completely stopped reading. Which I find odd since I love it so much. I have been using the Good Reads web site for a while now. I joined their reading challenge and hopefully will get back into the habit of reading. 🙂
Ironically, I ca’t remember the last time I went to a library. Some time in college. As much as I love to read, you’d think I would get frequent flier miles there. I tend to buy used books in bulk and then read them over time. They tend to last me forever because I’m a slow reader. I also love audio books which are readily available on line. I really love LiriVox, a great audio book web site. You can visit it here: http://librivox.org/
