Failing the Self

There are always times that other people are hateful, rude or nasty to you. There are also times when other people blame you for their mistakes. I have had a temper since I was young and long ago made a decision about how I was going to approach my anger. I have tried to become the person who can respond to aggressive and hostile behaviors with calmness. I have become better at this. But this Read the rest of this entry

Piggie Update 100315

So, I’m seeing a new psych provider. I saw her the first time on 9/24. The first impression is pretty good. I was in the appointment for about 2 hours. I didn’t feel rushed. I felt like she was really listening to what I was telling her. I liked that she was being open minded. She had received a ton of records on me, but (more…)

Taking Notice

Make a Diffrence

I cannot say enough about how important I think it is that we notice the people around us. A lot fo things in this world would improve if we could just notice each other. It is all too easy to get caught up in the hurry of our day and our own problems. But I really believe that helping others will help you. So, go out into the world today and try to notice someone around you. Notice what they are wearing. Notice what they need. Notice how you could make their life just a tiny bit better. Notice someone and do something about it.

Piggie Update 042615

Things have been as busy as ever. I had this week off from work and L had it off from school. Didn’t get to spend as much time with her as I would like since I had appointments every day. Seems like I am never home. But that isn’t true. I have been home and have been able to spend time with both Eric and L. We’ve been playing Alien: Isolation for the PlayStation 4. I’ve really been loving it. Read the rest of this entry

Piggie Update 032715

Alright, so it’s my birthday. And that makes me 34. No promises on how the posting will go the next few days. I have no idea what the family has planned. I am at their mercy. Which may or may not leave time for writing… Read the rest of this entry

Book Worms -Response

Well, looks like most of the people visiting this site are readers. Which is good since I’m writing so much! I love books and normally read quite alot. As of late I have been rather busy and haven’t been reading much of anything. I’m way behind on my reading goal for the year. Going to have to find a day to myself that I can get my nose into a book for a few hours (or more).

What have you guys been reading as of late? I’m currently still working on Slaughter House Five. It’s a weird book… I’ll review it once I get all the way through.

Happy reading!

Things have been BUSY!

Starting things out: how’d the first week of the plan for the blog go. Answer? Not so great. I think I missed the medical post, but I got all the others in. But not on the right days… >.< Seemed like being more structured would be helpful, but it’s not seeming to be so far. 😛 Read the rest of this entry

How Many Books do You Read?

lol this prompt amuses me. I have decided that I have let my reading go by the way side for no particular reason over the last few years. I have made a goal this year to read at least one book a month. So far, I’m right on track 🙂

When I was in college I read constantly just to keep up with my course work. Honestly, I loved it. The things I read for English were the best. There was such variety. I found that there were many authors and books that I would have never picked up, but that were assigned to read and I became very found of. The first of these was “Master and Margarita”. I loved the book, but I remember reading the back of it and groaning. There are times that I wish I still had people telling me what to read and when to have it read by.

I’m not sure why, but over the past 2-3 years I have almost completely stopped reading. Which I find odd since I love it so much. I have been using the Good Reads web site for a while now. I joined their reading challenge and hopefully will get back into the habit of reading. 🙂
