Monkey has his driver’s permit! Woot! I’m so excited about that. It’ll make things so much easier for there to be a second driver in the household. Hell, Dragon is planning to get her driver’s license this summer too.  Read the rest of this entry

Just Shit

The dryer decided that it would scream. A high pitched banshee wail that drills into the ears and makes your brain bleed. You know? Dryers aren’t supposed to make that noise. So, there are clothes hanging in our “library”. They have to dry some where and in the maw of a dying banshee just doesn’t seem like a good idea. Who knows? Maybe banshees are kinder to fabrics then I think they are, but I don’t fucking care if they are when they make noises like that. No idea what’s wrong with the thing. Hopefully, Monkey can work his furry magic and silence the beast so that we can keep using it. Read the rest of this entry

We’re in DC at the moment. Here to pick Dragon up from her leadership conference. Left the house 2200 last night and drove through the night. Got here to pick up Dragon at 1115. It was a good drive. We listened to a book the whole way; the 3rd Zombie Fallout book. It was a good book. I’ve enjoyed the series a lot so far. We Read the rest of this entry

In DC now. The drive was both great and terrible. We started the trip by getting about 1/2 hour out and realized that we did not have our meds. The upset is that we weren’t in DC when we realized. The down side was loosing 1 hour of time and just being annoying. Not a crisis, but not a great way to start our trip. This drive was a lot better because we were both awake and we were all engaging with each other. That makes it a lot better for me. We played some ABC games and laughed a bunch. I really enjoyed their company. Near the end of the trip, about the last 3 hours is when the terrible came. A car went onto the off ramp and then turned and Read the rest of this entry

Slept until 1030. Slept really well. I needed it. Got 8 hours of sleep. Haven’t slept that well all trip. We left the hotel at 1200 after getting some breakfast into us. Well, maybe lunch?

More driving.

Stopped at a restaurant called Perkins for supper in Matamoras Pennsylvania. It was a Denny’s like place. The food was good.

We hit intermittent rain on the way home. Made driving a pain in the ass. Slowed us down quite a lot. There was also a lot of construction.

We chatted for some of the ride but mostly listened to the 2nd Hunger Games book. I’ve been enjoying it.

Made a few stops for bathroom and coffee but those were quick. The breaks gave us a chance to stretch too, which was nice.

More Bullshit

Sometimes I think that the state of Maine’s system was set up by people who enjoy having sadistic power… Read the rest of this entry

Bull Shit!

So, here in a week or so I will have to take another road test to keep my driver’s license. It is total bullshit. I’ve had my license for about a year now and in that time I have never gotten a ticket of any kind. I have never been pulled over. Read the rest of this entry

Piggie Update 030515

Things have been BUSY!

Starting things out: how’d the first week of the plan for the blog go. Answer? Not so great. I think I missed the medical post, but I got all the others in. But not on the right days… >.< Seemed like being more structured would be helpful, but it’s not seeming to be so far. 😛 Read the rest of this entry

Sparkling or Still

Thanks Giving

This is the time of year that we are supposed to set aside time to spend with our families and to remind each other of the things that we have. It is easy to get caught up in the tangled list of things that are broken, lost, missing or wished for. Some how, it is so easy to loose sight of the things that are right in our grasp that can give us happiness if we were just wise enough to notice. So, today, I list the things that matter.
