So this poll reflects that people a varied in their perception of how they handle their anger. When I wrote this poll, I was careful about how I worded it. I didn’t want to know whether or not people felt angry. I wanted to know if people felt that they had it in check.
What’s the difference?
There is nothing right or wrong with what we feel. They are not logical or rational. They just are. It is what we do with those feelings that is either right or wrong. You are entitled to feeling angry when ever you are feeling it. But it is never alright to hit someone. Anger does not justify violence.
Feelings flow through us like a river. They come. They go. They leave little mark behind. Leaving only subtle changes that can be observed through the perspective of years or decades. But actions. They are like lightening. They are a choice we make that impacts us and those around us immediately.
Let your anger be like the river. Let it come and let it go. Do not let your anger become the lightening. It strikes hot and hard. It leaves fire and suffering in its wake. No good comes from acting on anger.
