Piggie Update 031315
Been rather busy lately. I’ve had quite a few people that I have been taking to doctor appointments. I like to go so that I can have a better idea of what’s going on with my various family members and it gives them someone that can help them get the info they need to get the care they deserve. And once in a while I play badger…
And if you don’t know what Badgers are like, check this funny video out: Honey Badger. My mother started calling me a badger when I was a kid. She told me I didn’t seem to care about much and didn’t know how to be afraid. So, now she says I’m being her badger when I’m getting on someone’s shit about needs things to be right the first time. Seriously, just take care of my mom the way she should be and we’ll be fine.
I got to take my Gram out today and that was a great time. She is 90 and often doesn’t have the energy to go out. So, it’s a great day when I get to take her shopping or out to eat and today I got to do both! We went to a yarn shop and looked at stuff to do some projects. She’s been working on a blanket and I wanted some more yarn to make some more critters. My yarn stock has been running low and it was happiness that I found some that was great quality and beautiful colors. See the new stash:
The 3 on the right, the yellow and oranges, are 100% cotton from Cotton Class and cost about $7.00 each. The 4 groups of yarn on the right are Merino wool sock yarn 2 ply from Blue Ridge Yarns which set me back $30.00 for each bunch. Really high quality stuff, but the price tag always stings a little. However, you get what you pay for!
Looking forward to making some little mushroom people out of these. I think the bright colors will offer a nice fantasy feel to the little guys. I’ve made one already and he was super fun to make. I bought the pattern, which is odd for me, but I’m so glad that I did. I see a whole forest worth of mushroom peeps in the near future. I’ll take pictures as I go and I’ll have to see if I can find the link to the shop I bought the pattern from.
So, that’s the good stuff. The bad news is that I managed to fracture and displace a bone in my tail bone. Yup, I broke my butt bone. And it hurts like hell. It happened at work, so I can’t go into how it happened, but I assure you that it isn’t serious. Just painful. Been taking my doughnut pillow in tow where ever I go, makes a huge difference for sitting. They have me on some pain meds that are making things much more tolerable. Now it’s just giving it time to heal.
