Piggie Update 022215
This past week has been a busy one for me. Last Saturday, Sunday and Monday I was working. There was a large storm predicted, so I made arrangements to spend the weekend up in Bangor. Turned out that the snow amounted to squat. But it was nice to have such a short drive between shifts. I was able to get more sleep.
Tuesday was the appointment to get the hood of Little Blue looked at. A big chunk of ice fell off the roof and hit the hood of the car. It made a big dent along with a few little ones and knocked the head light loose. It’s a 2014, so it’ll be getting all new parts. The estimate was for just about $2000. I’m glad I have insurance and only have $250 for the deductable. That’s a much easier to manage amount. I’ll be taking the car in to get repaired on the 24th and they’ll have it for 3 days. I’ll be driving a rental while they have it and the insurance covers the rental cost. So, it could be worse. And Little Blue was bound to get an injury eventually 😦 That appointment was at the collision repair.
I also had an appointment for Little Blue for regular maintience. They changed her oil, rotated her tires and filled fluids. They did a general look over at the car. And they even washed her. I came out and was surprised to see her really blue again. Alas, the winter weather has already re-applied a coat of grime.
On Wed, Thurs and Fri there were doctors appointments to get people to. My Mom had 2 this week, I had one and Eric had 2. Yippies, I love doctor appointments. But all of them were important.
I had my echocardiogarm. It was just the routine check up for the ongoing irregular heart rate and tachycardia. I haven’t gotten the results back as of yet, but I don’t expect there to be any changes.
Eric saw the neurologist. The doctor is changing his meds. Which is good because he has been having facial twitching while awake and leg movements while sleeping. The oxyxarbazapine was helping, but his last labs showed a low sodium level. So, he is being changed to a different med. Poop. I hate having him change meds because there is always the chance that he’ll have worse control then he does now. And seizures suck. We just have to wait and see what happens.
Eric also went to his primary doctor because he has an infection in his mouth. He is on antibiotics for that and is already feeling better. We really need to get his mouth fixed…
