Because the universe in busy making sure the universe works, there is no reason for humans to get busy trying to fix things. Life is never broken. It changes, moves and adapts, but it is always working towards keeping it going. So, why is it that humans have such a driving need to alter that which is around us? Perhaps because “the heart is an organ of fire” [The English Patient]. Our hearts burn with in us and if we are not careful they will also burn all that is around us. It’s a paradox though. How can we stay with the natural course of things? If we stay with our natural way, it will lead to us fixing things that are not broken and improving upon things that are beyond our understanding. What drives us to leave our mark? Is it better for the world for us to live and die without ever being noticed? We forget: “the mystery of life is not a problem to solve, but a reality to experience” [Dune]. We long ago became aware that the universe in incomprehensible and we have since struggled to come to an understanding. We, as a species, seem incapable of accepting that there is more in this universe that we cannot understand then we can fully grasp. Each question leads to others.

  1. Thank you for the reminder of how insignificant we really truly are to this world. Live and let live.
