PCM14

Well, I have to start by admitting that I have waffled greatly about this post. But I have decided that I’m going to put the info and my thoughts about it out there.

Julie and Ryan have decided that they will not be excepting our application as chairs for PCM14. The essential issue is that they feel we are not available enough to them and do not communicate well or enough with others.

I have a whole swirl of emotions about this. We have been committed to PCM for a long time now and I must admit that I just took for granted that it was something that I would always be doing. So, I was taken aback by their decision. Whether or not I should have seen it coming, I dunno and ultimately don’t care. Because it simply does not matter. I am disappointed. I love PCM and I have truly enjoyed being the chair. Our GMs and BG staffers are amazing. You have all been a pleasure to work with. I was looking forward to getting to know the minis staff better…

I am a little angry as well. I thought that I was doing a good job as the RPG chair. The feed back I have been getting from attendees has been very positive. Especially this year. You guys really knocked it out of the ball park! I’ve really got no where to post the feed back survey results at this point and may never have one. Sorry about that. But, it sums up to you guys being incredible. I wanted to make sure that you know how awesome you are! No one gave any negative feed back. All the scores were 4 or 5. Hell, there were several people who wrote in 6s and 7s. 🙂 I hope that I will still be allowed to review the feed back that Julie and Ryan received regardless of what next year brings.

So, I think you guys deserved as heads up, rather then getting back onto the forums and being surprised by the new chairs. Thank you for all your hard work over the years and please, work just as hard for the new chairs! While I am disappointed by the decision, I still hope that PCM14 will be even better and that the con will continue to grow in its coolness.

So, what does that mean for us in regards to PCM14? I dunno. Julie and Ryan have invited us to apply for staff positions. I have not yet decided if I will apply for staff, attend as a non staffer or skip the upcoming year. Perhaps this is a chapter that needs to be closed and I will choose not to attend PCM further. Again, I have not yet decided. Regardless of what I decide, I am happy that I have known all of you and hope to remain in touch.
