The Lorax

*****
I loved this movie. Beautiful to watch. It made me feel as if I fell into the pages of the book. The story stayed true and followed the book while refining some of the ideas only touched upon briefly in the book. I liked that it had a powerful message, but it didn’t feel like it was beating me with it. Instead it seemed more like a story of 2 people who lost their way and were struggling to find it. The boy that has a good heart and sees only the girl he is crushing on; discovers that there are things greater in scope then that and steps outside the small place he had previously thought of as the world. The old man has been devoured by his sins and discovers that there is redemption and that in guiding the next generation we can prevent our mistakes from being repeated. Of course, it is also full of humor, bright colors and dramatic silliness. It was a pleasure to watch with my family.
