Last Week Sucked
Have to say that last week was one of the worst in a long time. Sunday started things out with a bang. Started having seizures (see previous post). Then a friend of the family passed away. A cousin of mine went into early labor and lost her son. He never got to take a breath. Doesn’t seem like the world is a very nice place… Another cousin of mine got hurt badly, but luckily he is going to be ok. Looking at several months for recovery, but that’s better than things could have gone. He is very lucky! So, last week is marked by 2 deaths and 2 major medical events for my family. Needless to say, we are all feeling the stress. It’s a time of pulling together, loving each other and reminding ourselves of the good things that are present in our lives. I just wanted to list a few things that are good in my life so that I can try to focus my mind and heart on those things. 1. I have so many who care about me. The out pouring of love and concern over the past week has been amazing! Thank you so much everyone. 2. My husband is amazing. He works so very hard to help the family where ever the need is. He has been so very supportive during all of the current craziness in my life. I truly could not ask for a better partner in my life! 3. My daughter. Being a mother has been a crazy ride, but one well worth the taking. She is caring and intelligent. Despite the head butting that we occasional engage in, she is a blessing in my life. Her simple and heart-felt gestures of love have given me much to be thankful for. 4. My work. I have a great job, which I love doing. My co-workers are all excellent care givers with huge hearts. They are a pleasure to work with and I have missed their company the past week. I have had so much support from co-workers and my supervisors in this time of my needing to take a leave from work. There has been no hassle about taking the time away despite how short-staffed we have already been. Instead, they have given me nothing but their compassion and support. I am thankful to have the pleasure of working with such amazing people. 5. My room-mate seriously rocks. He has been very helpful during all of this. Again, I am grateful for the support! 6. My parents. They have been willing to fangle their own schedules to help me make all the needed appointments and tests that I have needed this week. On top of that, they have been a huge help with the canning (something I simply have not had the time nor energy for). In the midst of all the terrible things that have happened in the last week, I have been showered with blessings. I cannot thank everyone enough for being the amazing people that they are!
